Black-Poetry.com is a web site which provides writers an opportunity to showcase their work with other writers. We are building this site based on the values of trust and integrity and are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. 

We will not sell, give or share your personal information with anyone without your permission.

In order to understand the manner in which BLACK-POETRY.com  gathers and protects information provided to us via the web site, please read the following Privacy Statement/

We currently collect information such as your login name, password, and email address.  In your membership profile, you may list your real first and last name, your personal website, and any instant messenger information.  You are not required to post poetry or participate in the forum.  However, you will receive our monthly newsletter letting you know of updates to our site.  By joining, you also agree that Black-Poetry.com reserves the right to select your poems at random to be featured in our monthly newsletter.

CHILDREN

In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, Black-Poetry.com does not solicit information from children on its web site.  It also does not market its services to children.

GENERAL BROWSING

For general browsing and viewing of our web site's offerings, no personal information is captured. Black-Poetry.com does obtain anonymous site statistics each time a visitor logs onto the Web site through our Webalizer logs and "latest visitor" information. Examples of this type of information include the type of Internet Browser being used, the type of computer operating system being used and the domain name of the Web site from which the visitor linked to our site.  Additionally, we receive information about how visitor's were referred to our site and also search engine keywords.

Our blog can be viewed and read without registering and/or providing any personal information. In order to post poetry, registration is required. In order to register you must provide a username, password and email address. A registered member of our blog and chat has the option to keep their instant messenger services, their personal or business website url, and their first and last names private.

If you are 13 years of age or under, you must have your parents permission to use our site or to participate in our poetry blog.

Our blog uses cookies to store your unique user id number and your password if you are a registered member. If you are recently returning to Black-Poetry.com, the cookies allow you to automatically go to the "Post Your Words" section without the need to type in your username and password. 

BLACK-POETRY.COM CHAT

You do not need to register to use the chat-room.  However, the information that you disclose in the chat room becomes public.  Exercise caution and common sense when posting personal information.

When you post a poem in Black-Poetry.com, other writers or visitors to the site will have the opportunity to comment on your work.  These comments will become live on Black-Poetry.com instantly.  Additionally, you will receive an email notifying you of the comment at which time you may return to Black-Poetry.com to post a comment or you my reply directly to the sender's email.  Black-Poetry.com is not responsible for any communications that you make outside of our website nor are we responsible for the comments, views or opinions expressed anywhere on our website.  Those comments, views and opinions belong to the visitor or member of Black-Poetry.com who wrote it.
