COPYRIGHT INFORMATION FOR BLACK-POETRY.COM

STEALING PEOPLE'S WORK OR SUBMITTING WORK THAT BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE IS NOT TOLERATED HERE!

By asking the question "what is a copyright" in a major search engine, the first link was from the United States Copyright Office of the Library of Congress.  Their url is:  http://www.loc.gov/copyright/.

You are encouraged to review "Copyright Basics" @http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html. You will find answers to questions such as "what is a copyright," "what is not covered under copyright," and "how do you secure a copyright." ???

HOW TO ADD WORK TO THIS SITE AND GIVE PROPER CREDIT TO ITS OWNER

You might want to include a poem, piece of news, short story, etc. that belongs to someone else because you enjoyed reading it, newsworthy information, clarity, to prove a point, etc.  Here's how to proceed:

1. Before you add it to Black-Poetry.com, request the owner's permission.

2. Include their permission, web url, and email address.

It is not always easy to contact the owner of news articles, short stories, or poetry and receive their permission, But please  include a few sentences of the original news article and a link where it can be read on its owner's site, in its entirety.  Or if it is from a book, then include the appropriate copyright information (similar to using a quote or source in a research paper).

Nothing less is acceptable or permissible. It's a hassle but just think about how it would be if someone was stealing YOUR work!  You could be banned from the site or publicly ridiculed.  Do not deal with the wrath of the webmaster at Black-Poetry.  If you see that anyone has used someone else's work without permission, please notify us at webmaster@black-poetry.com.
